Mason photoThe Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the George Rhodes Scholarship to Jewell Mason. The $250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, supplies and books.

Mason, of Monroe, is a 2021 homeschool graduate. She is pursuing an associate of science degree while at MCCC. At MCCC, she is a member of student government and a writing fellow. She is a 4-H Cloverbud leader and volunteers as an assistant T-ball coach and at the MCOP Food Pantry. Jewell is the daughter of Scott and Kelley Mason.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must maintain part-time enrollment (enrolled in six credit hours) during the scholarship year and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. The student must have worked at least one semester in a tutoring program recognized by the Student Success Center or an academic division at MCCC and remain active in the tutoring program during the scholarship year.
